Annie Mae Turner was born on May 20, 1929 in Talbot County. She was the eldest daughter of eight children born to the late Roscoe and Sallie Emma Turner. Mrs. Annie Mae Melson departed this life on January 28, 2015 at the Warm Springs Nursing Home.

Mrs. Annie Mae loved to bake cakes and cared for kids from many neighborhoods. She was a devoted Mama, Big Mama and Miss Mae to the neighborhood. She took what little she had and shared it with all she came in contact with in her own quiet way.

She was united in marriage to the late Emmett Melson of Manchester, Georgia, and to this union five children were born.

She leaves to cherish her memories five loving children: Mary Keith, Riverdale, Ga.; Emmett (Gail) Melson Jr. of Manchester, Ga.; Sallie Melson of Stone Mountain, Ga.; Larry (Betty) Melson of Montgomery, Al. and Exie Melson of Manchester, Ga. One sister: Johnnie B. King of East Point, Ga.; Ten grandchildren: Shun Melson, Tyrone (Deanna) Keith, Chris Keith, Michelle Keith, Jasmayne (Dewayne) Robbins. Keon Melson, Kiven Melson, Kayla (Kevin) Woods, Akera Prather and Keire Melson. Nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
