Bennie Julian Harvey Jr.

Bennie Julian Harvey Jr. was born February 1, 1946, in Woodland, Georgia, to Bennie Julian Harvey Sr. and Reversa Harvey. He was called to eternal rest on July 29, 2016, at the age of 70. Bennie medically retired from Georgia-Pacific in Durand, Georgia, during the late 1980's and spent his life in Woodland, Georgia, where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and learning about God and his spiritual life.

He embarked on a second career with the TSA where he provided security at Columbus Metropolitan Airport. He would secure, meet and greet passengers during their travels. It was said that you could not start a conversation with Bennie without him bringing up the Lord or the Bible. He was a devoted husband, caring father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.

He accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a later age in life and became a Deacon at Friendship Baptist Church for a time until his illness prevented him from continuing to serve the Lord as he desired.

Bennie leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over fifty years, Martha Sue Harvey, daughter, Patti Harvey, sons; Reginald Harvey, Terrance Harvey (Angela Harvey), Corey Harvey (Virginia Harvey), Shawn Harvey (deceased), Kevares Harvey (Kissimmee Harvey).

Grandchildren; Germeka Harvey, LaShay Harvey, LaShaun Harvey, Tamarah Harvey, Kendrick Brown, Bryce Harvey, KeyShawn Harvey, Kevares Harvey, Kingston Harvey.

Great-grandchildren; Tori Harvey, Shaquille Harvey, Tania Horton, Ciarra Horton.
Great-Great-grandchildren; Alaysia Owens, Shanija Harvey, Mikayla Harvey, Lanay Harvey, Aliya Harvey, Daija Harvey, Irie Harvey.

Brothers and Sisters; Henry Harvey, Danny Harvey, Barbara Harvey (deceased), Cynthia Carter (T.L. Carter), Linda Leonard, Rodney Leonard, Beverly Harvey, David Harvey (deceased), Willie James Harvey (deceased), Eugene Harvey, Robert Harvey (deceased), Frank Harvey, Sammie Harvey, Pam Harvey, Angela Still, Charlotte Harvey.

A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who he loved and cherished dearly.
Very special thanks goes to the multitude of family and friends who made visits and calls to Bennie during his illness and recuperation as well as to the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at St Francis Hospital who cared for him and made him comfortable.
