Doris Copeland

Doris Lee Copeland, daughter of the late Will and Ella Prather was born August 6, 1931 in Manchester, Georgia. She attended the public schools of Meriwether County and was a graduate of Meriwether County Training School. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined New Hope Baptist Church in Manchester, GA where she was a dedicated member.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Allen James Copeland on July 15, 1947, who proceeded her death on September 23, 1989. This union was blessed with five children.

As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at her home in Manchester, Georgia.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of  her children: Carolyn A. Paschall (Henry/deceased), Massachusetts; Allen W. Copeland (Doris/deceased), Massachusetts; the late Doris P. Champagne (Fritz), Massachusetts; Lois E. Morgan (Edmond), Georgia; Sharon A. Harris (Clarence), Georgia; seven grandchildren: Tamika, Massachusetts; Lundis (Kessa), Georgia;  Demetrius, Florida; Fallon, Georgia; Joi, Georgia; Darius, Georgia; LaToya, Georgia; five great grandchildren: Montez, Massachusetts; Juwan, North Dakota;  Jazmine, Georgia; Quindarius, Georgia; Kamaya, Georgia; nine siblings, seven have preceded her in death: Zula M. Brown (Wisdom/deceased), Georgia; Martha A. Bryant (Jimmy), Georgia; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
