Mr. Earnest James Taylor was born July 9, 1955, in Upson, County to the late Benjamin G. Taylor and the late Mattie Bell Taylor. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three grandchildren.
Earnest received his education from R.E Lee Institute in Thomaston, Georgia. He continued his education at Upson Technical College, where he received a diploma in Electrical Engineering. On January 17, 1990, he married the love of his life, Nancy Haynes. They were married for 34 years.
Earnest was employed by Thomaston Mills until his health failed. He served as a deacon at New Beginnings Community Church in Woodland, Georgia.
On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the Lord called his name, he answered and went home to be at rest. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Taylor of Woodland, Georgia. Eight children: Octavius Taylor of Thomaston, Georgia, Shandra Taylor of Macon, Georgia, Jabarius Taylor of Thomaston, Georgia, Shemetrice Taylor, of Atlanta, Georgia, Rachel (Ken) Derico of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Demetrica Floyd, of Savannah, Georgia, Tony Haynes of Greenville, Georgia, and Eric (Chanda) Haynes of Thomaston, Georgia. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters to cherish his memories: Charlie (Gwendolyn) Taylor of Warner Robins, Georgia, Kathy Taylor of Thomaston, Georgia, Alfred (Chandria) Taylor of Thomaston, Georgia, Richard (Marie) Taylor of White Plains, New York, and Seretha (Robert) Rawlings of Atlanta, Georgia. He leaves 25 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
