Flora Boddie

September 28, 1914 — July 17, 2013

Ms. Flora Boddie was the daughter of Phil & Jennie Bell Howe. She entered this world on September 28, 1914. She had six brothers and five sisters. As a youngster, she joined New Hope Baptist Church and was the oldest member until her death on Wednesday, July 17, 2013.

She was a quiet person, belonging to a close knit family. She loved to sew and was known for making beautiful patch work quilts.

Living a long life, and being full of knowledge, she was to be interviewed by Fungisai Musoni a Research Assistant for the PhD program at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. The research was regarding American women's history. The study was entitled: Women's Role in the 1950's.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Ben, her children Jasper, MaryAnn, Joe Boddie and her grandson Vincent Boddie.


She leaves to cherish her memories, her grandchildren: Anthony (Shari) Boddie, Tundra (Lorenzo) Ivy, Jolese (Paul) Williams, Joloni (LaShondra) Boddie. Great grandchildren: Jessica and Sierra Boddie, Elexus Harris, and Ahza Boddie. Two daughter- in- laws: Chrystal Boddie of Warm Springs, GA.; and Barbara Boddie of Flint, Michigan; Two sisters: Eva and Emma Howe and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
