Sister Ilene Wells Hamler, the daughter of the late Walter and Susie Wells was born May 12, 1925 in Talbot County, Georgia.
She was a member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church. She loved to sing and play the piano.
She was untied in Marriage to Mr. Willie Hamler, Sr. in 1948 and this union was blessed with one son. She retired from Goody Newell Rubbermaid Company in Manchester after 30 years of service.
Sister Hamler departed this life peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Warm Springs Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Eddie T. Wells, Sr.
She leaves to cherish a husband, Willie Hamler, Sr. Warm Springs, GA; one son, Willie, Jr. (Virginia) Hamler, Shiloh, GA; three grandchildren, Wanda Searcy, Manchester, GA; William (Kenyetta) Hamler, Louisville, KY; Vernon (Nicole) Hamler, Junction City, KS; six great grandchildren, Adazia Searcy, Manchester, GA; Aquazia Hamler, Louisville, KY; Jayden and Javon Hamler, Junction City, KS; Elizah Nuddain, Philadephia, PA and Diamondique Thornton, Newport News, VA; one sister-in-law, Addie Wells, a special person she raised as her own Brittany Mahone, Manchester, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Psalm 30:5 Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.
