Mr. James Hixson was born on August 13, 1940 in Hamilton, GA. He was the son of the late Rev. J.C. and Rosia M. Hixson.
James Hixson departed this life on January 31, 2022 at Columbus Hospice, Columbus, GA.
He retired from the Fish Hatchery and worked Security for Goody’s and Georgia Pacific briefly.
He was preceded in death by his son Leroy Hixson and brother Joseph Cecil Hixson.
He leaves to cherish his memory a very loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Jeanette Hixson, 4 children: Judith Hixson, Lynne Patterson, Jean Hixson, Kenneth Hixson. 5 grandchildren: Preston Capers, James Capers, Dion Capers, Ariel Patterson and Anfernee Patterson. One brother: Robert Hixson, one sister: Annie C. (Henry) Green, Three sister-in-laws: Vera Bridges, Grace McAfee, and Josephine (Curtis) Walton. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and friends who will miss him dearly..
