The angels of heaven descended to earth on early Sunday morning, "Mother's Day", May 10, 2015 to deliver Julia Kate Anderson Bedell to our Heavenly Father. Julia Kate was born on January 19, 1943 in Manchester, Georgia to the late Max and Velma Anderson. She graduated from Meriwether Vocational School in 1961. As a child, she enjoyed playing sports. She was known for her swift skills in basketball. She once scored 50 points during a school basketball game. She loved playing basketball and could outplay any girl or boy in town. She was indeed an "Angel" sent from heaven to brighten so many people's lives. Julia or "Ms. Julia" as she was affectionately called was loved by so many people. Her infectious smile and generous heart always made people feel better.
Julia lived in Queens, New York City since the age of 19. She married Sidney Bedell also of Manchester, GA. To this union three children were born. Her children were the joy of her life. She always taught them to excel in school and never forget their upbringing. In 2004, she moved back to Manchester where she received assistance from her sisters, daughter, Felicia and son Sidney.
Julia was known throughout the community for her smile and her ability to remain courageous and faithful while battling rheumatoid arthritis. She always supported children and she always believed in their aspirations. Julia was a "giver". Her heart was always pure and she loved to give.
Julia's love for the Lord began at an early age. She had "TRUE" faith that pleased God. Her faith brought others to believe and recognize God's love for everyone. As she bravely dealt with her arthritis, she made others believe that their battle was endurable too. She knew that God loved her and that her rewards in Heaven would abound. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church in Manchester, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Montenia Hardnett, Cora Biggers and Peggy Terry, and one niece Debra Anderson.
Julia will never be forgotten. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: three children, Mrs. Felicia (Anthony) Warren of Manchester, GA, Dr. Sidney (Tina) Bedell of Columbus, GA and Dr. Veronica (Eli) Bedell Brown of Los Angeles, CA; one brother Jonah (Annie Jean) Anderson of Manchester, GA; three sisters, Alice Jones of Macon, GA, Maxine (Joe) Trice of Brooklyn, New York, and Helen Pollard of Jacksonville, FLA; seven grandchildren Zackary (Keela) Warren, Max Warren, Maxine Warren, Sidney Bedell, Kennedi Bedell, Victoria Brown, and Savanna Bedell; one great grandchild, Kyree Warren, a very dear care-taker that was like a daughter: Mrs. Shirley Stanford. Cousins: Virginia & Willie Dewberry, Reginald and Tesella Culpepper. She also leaves
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
