Sis. Lois Brown was born April 22, 1944 in Talbot County, Georgia to the late Jennie Mae Owens and D. B. Brown. She departed this life on Monday, April 27, 2020 while in the Nursing Home at Warm Springs, Ga.
Lois was educated in the Meriwether County School System. She was married to Elmer Brown, but the marriage dissolved years later.
Sis. Lois confessed Christ & joined New Hope Baptist Church in Manchester, Georgia and was a faithful servant working in the church kitchen and one of three custodians of the Church until her health failed. She never encountered strangers, always smiling and was an avid baseball fan along with other sports.
Sis.Lois began working for Goody's of Manchester where she was employed for 35 plus years before the company shut down its operations.
Sis. Lois was preceded in in death by her parents; ex-husband, Elmer Brown; four sisters: Georgia Hardnett, Willean Maddox, Josephine Hardnett, and Irene Shelton; Two brothers: Oscar Lee Holmes and Leroy Holmes all of Atlanta, Ga.; Brother-in-laws, Raymond Maddox of Atlanta, Ga., and Charles Brown of Manchester, Ga.
Lois leaves to cherish her precious memories, two sisters: Janice Hardnett and Mary Hardnett of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers: Johnnie(Lue) Hardnett of Conyers, Ga., Willie Lee Hardnett of Manchester, Ga., and Willie Leonard Hardnett of Atlanta, Ga.; one aunt: Leandy Prather of Manchester, Ga; One sister-in-law: Betty Ellison Reeves of Manchester, Ga.; brothers-in laws, Mack Authur Brown and Elder Brown of Manchester, Ga.; a special cousin & caretaker, Joyce ( Perry )Harvey of Manchester, Ga.; She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
