Mary Ann Jenkins

May 4, 1950 — December 3, 2022

Mother Deaconess Mary Ann Wamble Jenkins was born to the late Georgia Clyde Hixson Wamble and Lewis Calvin (L.C.) Wamble on May 4, 1950, in Warm Springs, Georgia. Mary Ann which everyone called her had a smile that would light up the room. She was loved everywhere she went and always made a friend or someone who looked up to her as the great person that she was and always will be.


Mary attended the Meriwether County Training School with the class of 1970. She would later be employed by the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation as a caterer/dietary staff member. She would retire with over thirty years of services to spend time with her family that she loved.


Mary Ann was married to the late Deacon Willie E. Jenkins Jr. (Bro Jenkins) on June 27, 1970. This union was blessed and brought along four beautiful children. They would also be blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom they both loved and adored. Even though they faced many obstacles, they both prayed to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for their strength, and He Delivered!


Mary Ann was a longtime member of the Leverette Hill Baptist Church Family where she served as a Missionary, Nursery Leader, Deaconess, and wherever she was needed until her health begin to fail. She even listening to Pastor Neal’s great teachings and preaching online via Facebook Live and conference calls which would always brighten up her days even during a trying time.


She departed this earthly life on December 3, 2022, in Coweta County, Georgia. She will be preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Willie E. Jenkins, sister Ida Mae Wamble, daughter Vernita Jenkins Bowles, her mother and father, and her grandmothers Ida Hubbard Hixson and Lillie Mae Milner Wamble. Her grandfather’s Ruben Clyde Hixson and Cornell Wamble. She also loss some sister and brother in laws whom she adored Rudolph Owens, Annie Grace Terry, Geraldine Copeland, and Roosevelt Riley Sr.


She will leave her cherished love and memories to her children, Dr. Reverend Ricky Bernard Wamble (Maria). Jennifer Marie Jenkins (Eric). Leslie Latrice Jenkins (Dexter). Her other children she raised as her own, Stacy Niles (Clayton), Clint Wamble, and Kyntraevius Anderson (Charita). Her most prized possessions her grandchildren whom she loved and adored: Mario (Tiera), Shaniedrea (Stacy), Ezekiel (Bryana), Charity, Trinity, Brandon, Erekah-J’Mari, and Arkez (Tichina). Her great-grandchildren Ava, Ahmir, Caleb W, Zyeria, Caleb A, Jasiah, Graci, Kaiden, Arielle, Aiden, Azaiah, Arkez Jr. Natalie, and Azariyah, Justice, Journee, Javelyn, Tisha, Tricia, Yashcia, Angelica, Asia, and Makayla. Her mother-in-love who she cherished and love Daisy Jenkins. Her lovely sister-in-law Betty Jenkins. Her sisters Latasha Williams, Yashica Williams. Her brothers Willie James Wamble and Frankie Wamble. Her aunt Louise Wamble, and Uncles Isaiah Holt and Charles Campbell. Her special best friends, Lucille Clark, Catherine Owens, Veola Jackson, Gloria Strozier, Anitra Dock, Tammy Copeland, John Eric and Kenneth Holiday, Patricia McKee, Lois Revell, Margie Walker, Mary Collins, Minister Mary Little, Mary Martin, Chrystal Boddie, Zetta Robinson, her fellow deaconess and deacons of Leverette Hill, and Jennifer Moss. Her special cousins Windy Dunham, Betty Clements, Patricia Gates, Darlene Dunlap, Sam Howe, Larry Howard, Horace Hixson, Annie Hubbard, Annie “Pancake” White and Reverend Anthony Hixson. She will be truly missed by all her nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers, classmates, Leverette Hill Baptist Church family, neighbors, and friends.
