Mattie Pearl Jarrett

May 24, 1938 — February 18, 2020

Sis. Mattie Pearl Jarrett was born May, 24, 1938, in Talbot County to the late Jim Henry Huff and Ida Mae Huff.  She departed life on Tuesday, February 20, 2020, at Piedmont Regional Hospital.  Mattie passed through the veil called “death” into the life, which is everlasting.  Her loving and caring voice was silenced as she entered into eternal rest.

She joined Spring Hill Community Baptist Church and served as a secretary, a treasurer, and an usher until her health failed.

She worked at Milliken Textile Mill and at Roosevelt Institute combined until she retired.  She was a humble and God spirit woman who loved her family.

Mattie was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Lee Jarrett, by two brothers, and by one sister.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memories one son: Frankie (Sandra) Copeland of Virginia Beach; one daughter: Bonnie (Michael) Davis of Geneva, Georgia; six grandchildren: Carlos Bussey, Regina Campbell, Kyra Copeland, Kobe Copeland,  Lucille Carter, Damien Carter; three great grandchildren: DeAsia Smith, Qua’miya Carter, and Chloe’ Milan Bussey; one brother: Jimmy Lee (Cassandra) Huff; three sisters: Willie Lue (Melvin) Parks, Minnie Pearl (Jimmy) Jarrett, and Mattie (Dexter) Thomas; four sisters-in-law: Mattie Ruth Copeland, Beulah (J.D.) Wortham, Elaine (Johnny) Hardnett of Shiloh, GA, and Maxi Finley of Douglasville, GA; two brothers-in-law:  Earnest (Rosa) Jarrett and James Harris;  one uncle: Sidney (Ritatemar) Hardnett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
