On Friday afternoon, June 14, 2024, the angels of silence came and sealed the lips of Michael Derrick Holt at University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Michael was born to Fannie Mae Milner (Prather) and to the late John Holt, Jr. on April 12, 1958, in Buffalo, New York. He attended school in Manchester, Georgia, and he served our country by enlisting in the United States Navy in the late seventies.
Michael’s last duty station was at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. After completing his time in service, he worked for Tacoma Janitorial Services as a Maintenance Technician. He was also enrolled in Green River Community College. Michael joined the Grace Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church and served on the junior deacon board as well as the usher board. While living in Manchester, Michael attended Grace Tabernacle COGIC faithfully. In his remaining years, Michael returned to New Orleans.
He leaves to mourn his mother Fannie Mae Milner of Warm Springs, his brother Anthony Holt of Augusta, three children Linda, Tony, and Michelle Holt, his niece Kimberley Wildman (Lennox Wildman, Sr.) of Pooler, his nephew Abdul Holt of Newnan, three great nieces, Arlesia Wildman, Ailayah and Makailah Holt, two great nephews Lennox Wildman, Jr. and Jamal Holt, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
