Millie Carter Blount

Mrs. Millie Lee Carter Blount was born April 25, 1940 in Woodland, Georgia to the late Jimmie Lewis Carter and the late Maebell Leonard Carter.

She committed her life to christ at an early age and joined the Friendship Baptist Church.  Millie attended Ruth Carter High School.  She loved  cooking, sewing, watching her favorite t.v. show Family Feud, soap operas.  Mom revolved her whole life loving and caring for her family, neighborhood and friends.

On Thursday, November 18, 2021, the Lord dispatched angels from heaven to usher Millie Lee Blount into the presence of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Millie married the love of her life Joushua Isaiah Blount on September 28, 1957.  To this union two daughters were born :Oretha and Diane.  The left Georgia and moved to Cleveland, Ohio where they raised their family and later years a baby girl Anaah became a part of the Blount Family.  Millie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joushua, her brothers: Willie B and John Lee Carter.

She leaves to cherish her memories four devoted daughters: Oretha Blount and Diane Blount – Copeland and a devoted son-in-law Ralph, Anaah Blount  all of Manchester, GA.;  Inez Copeland (Willie James) of LaGrange, GA.;  A God son: Merle (Pat) Heavender of California.  Seven Grandchildren: Marcel, Destin, Joushua, Crystal, Shavon ,Nicole and Azuri. Twelve great grandchildren.  Two sisters: Isabell Huff of Vallejo, CA.;  Laura Taylor of Atlanta, GA.; One brother : Mayor James (Barbara) Carter of Woodland, GA.;  Two aunt-in-laws: Ann Blount of Atlanta, GA.; and Evelyn Blount of Tampa, FL.;  She also leaves a host of many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins who will miss her dearly.
