REBECCA "HONEY" COPELAND TERRY was born on September 22, 1927 in Shiloh, Talbot County, Georgia to the late Alpha Omega and Ara Melson Copeland. She was the seventh child of eleven born to this union; nine siblings preceded her in death. Rebecca was married to the late Fred James Terry, son of the late Hattie Jean Terry Gamble and mother to eleven children, 5 sons and 6 daughters; husband and four sons all preceded her in death: Alben, Wallace, Norman and Victor.

Rebecca confessed her life to Christ and was baptized at Valley Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Tax, Georgia. She was a devoted, faithful Church member and mother of Valley Grove Baptist Church. She attended Bible Study and Sunday Church Services, regularly. Rebecca will be remembered for her faithfulness, humbleness and gratefulness and Hope and Trust in God. Rebecca, in the midst of her busy life, attended an Adult Night School and received a level II certificate of achievement.

Rebecca began to work as a mill hand in Woodland, Georgia in the late 1940. In the mid 1950, she worked as a domestic in the affluent suburb of Detroit, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. Thereafter leaving the city, she continued her work experience as a domestic for more than 30 years, in Georgia.

Rebecca (Honey) departed this life early Monday morning, November 28, 2016, at approximately 1:00 a.m. at St Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, a devoted son, Edward James (Wynee) and six loyal daughters: Judy, Aileen, Betty, Gloria, Iris, and Demelody; 20 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. A brother, Frank Copeland (Shirley) Mt Rainer, Maryland. A sister-in-law, Marie Copeland of Detroit, MI. Three sisters in law, Louse Copeland, Jeanette Copeland and Dorothy Gamble all of Reading PA; Mary Jones of Hampton, GA and Golden Hardnett of Shiloh, GA; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Family Relatives and Friends.
