The Essence of Her Life
Miss Virginia Leonard was born April 5th 1945 to the late Laura and Seabron Leonard, in Manchester, Georgia. She was the youngest of three daughters. She departed this life on March, 4th 2013 at St. Francis hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

Virginia was educated in the Manchester-Meriwether County School system. After graduating she enlisted in the United States Air Force and retired after twenty -three years of service. She served at many bases in the United States and in Japan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. After her retirement she resided in Panama City ,Florida. She later returned to her hometown of Manchester, Georgia.

At an early age she joined the Calvary Baptist Church in Manchester, Georgia where she was an active member during her early years. Upon her return home she resumed her work in the church.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, one sister Mrs. Doris ( David ) Slater, Miami Gardens, Florida; seven nephews Michael, Barry, and Gary Culpepper of New York; Steven Culpepper of Manchester, Georgia; Nicky, Alton, and Tracy Slater of Miami Gardens, Florida; five nieces, Valerie Sellers, Cheryl James, Sharon Bailey and Donna Culpepper of New York; and Debrick ( Robert) Henry of Miramar Florida; several great nieces and nephews. special cousins; Hattie Cullins and Sarah Mobley of Atlanta, Georgia; special friends from childhood, Martha Oglesby and Carol Hollis and a host of other relatives and friends. Her older sister Vivian Culpepper preceded her in death.
