Norman Terry was born October 31, 1960 in Talbot County, Georgia to the union of Rebecca Copeland Terry and the late Fred James Terry. He was the ninth child and fourth son to this union
At an early age, Norman confessed his life to Christ and attended Sunday school at St. Paul CME Church in Shiloh, Georgia. He attended elementary school in Woodland, Georgia and graduated from Central High School in Talbotton, Georgia, June 1978. He had a affinity for basketball and often spoke of his courageous acts on the court. After graduation, he worked for Goddy Products, Inc in Manchester for a time. Norman was the quiet, shy type and man of few words. He had an enterprising entrepreneur spirit and always wanted to work for himself. He had a talent for drawing and building things with wood as he loved working with his hands.
Norman has two lovely daughters: Dimitri Nichole Terry of Columbus, Georgia and Kirsten Terry of Shiloh, Georgia. He has four lovely grandchildren: granddaughter: Taylor Mariah Terry and three grandsons: Kartiay, Tomaury and Karmelo Lockhart.
Norman was called to rest Monday morning, July 29, 2013 at 1:42 a.m. He was preceded in death by brothers, Wallace, Victor Conrad, and Alben Terry.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted mother, Mrs. Rebecca Terry; a brother, Edward James (Wynee) Terry, Shiloh, GA; six sisters: Judy Williams, Detroit, MI, Better Crouch, St. Clair Shores, MI, Aileen Terry, Shiloh, GA; Gloria Ann Martin (Winston), College Park, GA; Iris Linda Hardaway (Elroy), Columbus, GA; and Demelody Terry, Woodland, GA; uncles and aunts: Lomie (Lurleane) Copeland, Marie Copeland, Detroit, MI; Frank (Shirley) Copeland, Mt. Rainer, MD; Louise (James) Copeland, Jeanette (Bobby) Copeland, Charlie (Marie) Terry, and Dorothy Gamble, all of Reading, PA; Mary Jones, Atlanta, GA; and Golden Hardnett, Shiloh, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends
