Rev. Clarence Ellison

June 20, 1946 — September 2, 2013

The sun rose on June 20, 1946 in Manchester, GA, as he was born to the late Bro. John Henry and Sis. Erma Benning Ellison.

He graduated from Meriwether County Training School in 1965.

He served our country as a Private First Class in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed with Terminal Personnel Company until his retirement.

Respecting the Will of God, Rev. Clarence Ellison was called into the ministry in 1969, under the leadership of Rev. Jesse Averett, Sr. He dutifully served as a pastor within the Columbus District of the C. M. E. Church until his illness. He was the Pastor of St. Paul and Oak Ridge C. M. E. of Lone Oak, GA.

Rev. Ellison was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hines Ellison, daughter Courtney Ellison and grandson, Joshua Ellison.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters: Felicia (Gerald) Sims and Ashley Ellison of Decatur, GA. Six grandchildren: Jonathan and Jordon Ellison, Anna Marie, Maya, Cailyn Neal all of Decatur, GA. Four sisters, Christine and Catherine Ellison of Reading, PA, Lulabell (Ervin) Hardnett of Manchester, GA, His dedicated caretaker and youngest sister, Sandra McGhee. Sisters-In-Law: Wylene (Claudell) Phillips, Jonesboro, GA, Linda (Tony) Rhodes and Pastor Brenda (Elder Carlton) Clark of Newnan, GA. Brother-In-Law, Johnny (Bernice) Pinson of Atlanta, GA a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
