"Phenomenal Teacher"

On April 18, 2013, an Angel from heaven came to Warm Springs Nursing Home, Warm
Springs, Georgia to Room 3A and said, Rosa " Come Rest and take a journey with me."

Rosa Lee Rosser - Little, began her life on October 22, 1919. She was the fifth child of the late John Brown Rosser and Emma Freeman Rosser. She was born and reared in the Zion Hill Community in Luthersville, Georgia on a small farm. Her mother left at an early age, leaving her father with the burdens of caring for six children, four girls and two boys. Although Rosa had to work after school, do daily chores, study hard at night, she was determined to get an education and pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.

Rosa commenced her first experience as a teacher with an assignment in a one-room school, teaching six grades at Campbell School in 1943, near the City of Manchester, Georgia. She began teaching without a State Teacher's Certificate, but was not content with just a certificate. She resumed studying toward a degree at Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley, Ga. And received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She did further study at Fort Valley toward a Master's Degree and at Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. When schools in the county became consolidated, Rosa was transferred to Meriwether County Training School to teach in the Primary Department, and there is where she retired.

Rosa was converted to the Christian Faith at an early age and joined Zion Hill Baptist Church. Here she served on the Missionary Board, Baptist Training Union. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 491 and the Freedman Aid Society in Luthersville, Ga.

Rosa was happily wedded to a life-long marriage on December 25, 1945 to the love of her life, Charlie Lee Little. She then moved her membership to the New Hope Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. She served in several capacities: Sunday School Teacher, President of Deaconess Board and she participated on the Advisory Board.

Rosa was a member of the Georgia Teacher Educator Association, both locally and State and National level.

Rosa is survived by One Sister: Grace Ector of Primrose, GA.; (currently residing at Greenville Nursing Home in Greenville, GA.; One brother-in-law: Lovett Little, Sr. of Manchester, GA.; Three very special care-givers, nephews: Dea. Calvin (Pastor Mary) Little and Lovett (Melissa) Little, Jr. of Manchester, GA.; and One niece: Minnie Little- Johnson of Decatur, GA.; a host of relatives, and friends.

Rosa has been called one of the "Best Teachers" of all times. So It was only befitting that she was named "Teacher of the Year" in 1970.
