Celebration of Life
Mr. Walter James Turner, Sr. was born on January 27, 1926 to the late Willie B. and Georgia Lee Turner. He was preceded in death by one brother George Edward Turner, and two children Cecil and
Georgia Mae Turner.
He was a member at St. Paul C.M.E. Church where he served as a choir
member. He served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII Veteran. He was a
hard worker at Callaway Mill for 28 years. He also worked as a painter
with Walker Painting Service and Jackson's Construction Company. He
was employed at Jet Laundromat for many years until his health failed
him.
He was united in holy matrimony to his lovely wife of 64 years. Mrs.
Alberta Turner. He was a dedicated husband, father. brother, grandfather,
uncle and friend .
God called him home on October 24, 2013 at Fountain City
Rehabilitation and Nursing Horne.
He leaves to cherish in his memory a beloved wife. Alberta Turner of

GA and Vera Veal (Frankie). Chicago, IL: four sons, Walter J. Turner Jr..
Childersburg. AL, Larry Turner (Belinda). Carrollton, GA, Willie Russell
(Barbara), Atlanta, GA, Albert Turner (Caroline), Manchester, GA; one
brother. Jesse Gamble of Atlanta. GA; four sisters; Elizabeth, Lois, and
Wilene Turner all of Manchester, GA and Martha Ann Gamble of
Atlanta. GA. two sister-in-laws, Christine Turner. Chicago, IL and Mary
Joyce Thompson. Woodbury. GA. one brother-in-law, Major Johnson.
Manchester, GA; twenty eight grandchildren, thirty six great
grandchildren. ten great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces,
nephews. cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
