Mother Willene Russell
Mother Willene Russell was born August 21,1922 in Talbot County,
Georgia to the late Reverend Horace and Carrie L. Copeland-Denson. She was the first born of seven siblings and five of them preceded her in death (Ruby Ellison, Ethel Carter, Sarah D. Brooks, Jim Denson,and Preston Denson). At an early age she committed her life to Christ and joined Valley Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Mother's Board, Usher Ministry, and Church Secretary for many years. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie Russell,Sr. who also preceded her in death.

Mother Willene Russell was a graduate of Talbot County School and retired from Goody's Manufacturing Company.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2014, the Lord dispatched Angels from
Heaven to usher Mother Willene Russell into the presence of our
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She is now at rest with Jesus.

Mother Willene Russell devoted her time, talents, and gifts in helping
others in need. She gave from her heart, her love, her knowledge
and wisdom.

Mother Willene Russell leaves to cherish fond and loving memories:
three sons, Arthur Denson, Sr. (Kate) of Manchester, Georgia; Willie Russell, Jr. (Carolyn) of Atlanta, Georgia; Jeffrey D. Russell of Longbeach, California; three daughters, Ann Campbell of Long Beach, California; Minister Shirley Jackson of Hartford, Connecticut and Sandra D. Russell, Manchester, Georgia; one sister, Bertha Green (John) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one sister-in-law, Barbara Denson (deceased Preston Denson), Atlanta, Georgia; 18grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who loved her dearly.
