Brother Willie Aaron (Goop) Williams Sr. was born July 11, 1927 in Woodland , Georgia to the late Aaron and Susie Turner Williams.
Willie joined St. Paul C.M.E. Church at an early age. He served as the Chairman of the Steward Board and Trustee Board until his health failed.
Brother Willie attended school in Talbot County. He was employed by CSX Railroad in 1949. In 1952 he was drafted into the United States Army. Brother Willie returned to the railroad in 1954 where he retired after 38 years of service.
Willie was united in Holy Matrimony to Bernice Culpepper Williams. To this union five children were born. He was preceded in death by Two sons: Kenneth and Thomas Williams and four brothers.
On Saturday, April 12, 2014, the Lord dispatched Angels from Heaven to usher Brother Willie Aaron (Goop) Williams into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories: Wife of 60 years: Bernice C. Williams, of Manchester, GA.; one son: Willie A. Williams, of Manchester, GA.; Carol Walton, of Columbus, GA.; and Angela Faye (Byron) Stevenson, of Manchester, GA.; Two Sisters: Julia Farley and Betty Daniel both of Atlanta, GA.; Ten grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly.
